I have a Dovii here, pretty sure its a male. Its about 5 inches and all it does is hide. Its in a 90 gallon for now, eats well and looks healthy. Any suggestions? Dosent really seem too agressive for a dovii.

It is a male and here are some suggestions.
#1 Add some more hiding places, especially a cave big enough for him to comfortably fit in.
#2 Add more gravel. It appears as if the gravel is not covering the entire bottom of the tank and the reflections from the bottom glass maybe keeping him feeling uneasy.
#3 Add a female Dovii. This is the surest way to get him going.
#4 If you do not want to add a female Dovii then add some dither fish of some kind. Maybe a couple more similar sized parachromis males of your choosing. Keep in mind that they will need to be removed when the Dovii grows another 3 inches or so.
#5 Move to a larger tank. I have raised Doviis for years in multiple tanks and they all do better in tanks of at least 200 gallons- the bigger the better.

Good luck

I have black gravel and pool filter sand mixed. Ill try adding more sand tonite. And there is a female in there, i think its female. Its 1/4 the size, but same age.

get a bigger tank ad add a female thats what i did they r spawning every 30 days and he went from hiden to a glass banger over night u cant walk in the kitchen where my tank is without him freaking out and chasen u they r in a 125 now goin into a 220 in a few weeks

they do that. But later when he adapts, he'll come out of his shell. No worries. He's hiding for a reason. He aint adapted yet. Look at him more and he'll get used to you.

I know what Im talikn about because I've had experience with a 4" grown to 12"

Mine is a foot long and does the same thing... Lame
