My Dovii Pair...

Just a few pictures of my breeding pair of Doviis. Male is approx. 6" and female is about 5". Male is an F0 from Conkel. These have spawned three times for me and have only been together about 3 months! (Sorry for the poor quality pictures... the acrylic tank is scratched up and is only a breeding tank)

Thanks guys...... No dithers. They get along perfectly! There is about 20 - .5" fry swimming around in there with them....

The male has a lot more blue than it appears in the picture.

Anytime I try to have a pair of breeding cichlids, the Male either kills the female or beats her nearly to death. Any secrets on how to successfully have a pair without dithers?

So far it's been dumb luck with these Doviis. I bought 5 at 2" and ended up with 2 females that killed everybody else. I ordered a F0 male from Conkel and threw him in with the nicer of the two female..... she was slightly larger and tried to bully him around for a couple of days. He put on some size and how runs the tank..... they've gotten along ever since. Most of my other pairs of CA/SA's are divided or have a pass-thru divider.
