I'm an addict to, I want to commit to this fish though before I get way more fish.

I hear ya. What I had to do is sit down and decide what my favorite fish were, fish that I could reasonably house of course. I picked my Dovii, a common wolf fish and red wolf fish. I knew the Dovii and common would basically live in solitaire, but it's fine because my red wolf allows the other less aggressive tankmates I wanted

TBH I'm not huge on cichlids, to me there are other much more interesting fish.. although of course Dovii are an exception to that statement.
