Cuban, yeah mate - I'm still here and my tank has been kicking ass and running well. I still do have my first batch roughly 5-7 @ 4-5cm. I've got another 2 male dovii's 20-25cm each in a 4ft tank too.
I have had minimal issues with aggression. Some times when the female isn't ready to breed, so my male would start giving her a hard time. Separation and an increase in water temperature quickly turns things around.
good to see some quality dovii here in Aus! i recently bought a juvie dovii, i hope he is from that powerhouse of a fish! in the future i will be looking for a female for him i hope you are around and trading.
Your Dovii will turn out 10 times better than what is available in Australia.
Im hoping that you got your Dovii from Rapps, because I have heard nothing but positive feed back from him let alone some of the best specimens!
Unfortunately, because of the retarded government in power - the laws/regulations prohibit the importation of this amazing fish. I can understand their concern, as this sorta of fish would ruin the natural balance of things if it ever got out into the open waters in Australia.
But, eitherway I am quite happy with my pair - and i'll admit, they are not exactly the best specimens, but they have the temperament - and thats all that matters, because when it comes to feed them live food, it makes great entertainment
Make sure you keep everyone posted with pics and vids!!!
