i just got the COOLEST fish in the world, and albino bichir around 4 in. and i was wondering how fast they grow and how big will they get, and also the guy at the fish store said they only eat live food... is this true? thanks!

what kind of bichir is it? i am guessing it is an albino senegal bichir? if thats the case, my senegal eats omega one sinking pellets daily, and it has been growing, i dont rememeber how big it was when i first got it, but now it is 5-6", i love it they are awesome! but no they dont only eat live food.. pics?

Albino Sens usually grow smaller than their normal counterparts. They average around 8" I currently have one that's about 6.5" that I've had for a little over 2 years now. They don't always need live food. You can feed them sinking pellets, worms, cut pieces of fish, and shrimp.
I have an albino senegal bichir.. grows quite slow for me too but mines a little fat. They do eat live feed. Mine actually stole a feeder from 3 of my oscars which were fighting for it.
i got 3 albino senns at 3'' some time in early dec. growth was quick untill they hit 7'', now they are 7-8'' and growth seems to have stopped. i feed them shrimp scallop tilapia basa and smelt
I have a shortbody albino senegal bichir. Mine eats almost everything but he likes live blackworms and earthworms the most. Ithink you'll really like your albino sen. I have 6 bichirs and my albino is the most active and eats the most. He's always looking for food.
