naser90096 & tropheus : from a lake in m'sia as for location i wouldnt know. i do agreed with tropheus that the water condition plays a very important factor on it's coloration.

skareb : i have seen the blue types like d one u mentioned. in my area there's also metallic purple, dark brown, black base, light green and dark green depending where the fish were caught. and for your info. micro has short body and long body as well.

theres short and long bodied micro's? thats interesting, does it depend on what area there from?
 
I think long and short bodied micro depends on the water current. Short and fat looking micros usually in slow moving water and long ones in the fast running water...my 2 cents.

I like the metallic purple and blue hue specimans, myself. Also like the greens with light color base with rather unordinary and unique marking patterns.
