I have seen one that was 3 inches with dark blue, but he was 80 dollars :/.So I went for a smaller one for 13.50 instead.Where others charge 20 bucks or above for the same cichlid.
If a 3" EBJD is worth $80 (to someone), it makes me wonder what mine is worth.

Well when you go to petland, you are going to get ripped off, when you have their fish club, you get 25% off actually through their partners aquarium adventures. Some of their prices on certain fishes were too high for my taste, like a 13 inch Frontosa cost 120 dollars, but the reason I will find that price too high,is because I have found larger cichlids that size or bigger for 20 dollars a piece.A good fish keeper who runs his own store,is willing to sell those larger cichlids for a good price,so they are put into a good home right away. While Petland or other chain stores, would rather jack the price up and those larger fishes may sit around for ever in a 55 gallon or 75 gallon the most.I don't know if EBJD's are consider rare anymore, cause it seems like some chain stores are starting to carry them now.

Real EBJD's are still rare, but these inbred ones are everywhere, My local petsmart has them on sale for $5, but as in have seen a real EBJD theres no way i would buy one of the inbred ones. Most of them even come out looking odd when full grown.

Instead of looking like this:

so the ones with more dark colors instead of blue is a inbred then?

The one on top is a true EBJD, the one on the bottom is definitely inbred.

Notice the beak that the one on the bottom has
