Quick update the red fin eel didn’t survive. Very stressed fish, just hid and never ate. My other dayi which I think looks pantherinus has put on size. Doing well. Has been moved with the other polys and large fish.

Sorry to hear about the Redfin. The others are looking awesome. Love it when the little head pokes out from... everywhere. Lol
What should these guys be eating if not pellets? My tt only eats frozen blood worms and brine shrimp atm. I’m assuming that isn’t an extremely healthy/ long term diet. Is there a way to train these guys with pellets? Tried a few of the tricks that I used with my bass and still no success.

Initially eating bloodworms, blackworms, pellets and earthworms. Get small pieces easily swallowed to mouth size and soak in bloodworm liquid until soft. It’ll take a bit of starving but should take it. Once these kind of eels are larger then it’ll take more different foods.
If ur not able to then soak the what ur giving in some Boyd’s vitachem. It’ll help and give some of what it’s missing.
If you can get him on tilapia he will shoot up in size making it easier to get him to take pellets
