Greetings Aquatic Fanatics :D,

Been wanting to chronicle my humble experiences with the Fish world for quite some time now and well here I am typing away these words and hope i have the patience to see this through :)

In case you are curious, My name is Ajith and i hail from Kerala, way down south in India. I manage a part of a retail and distribution chain [the family business] and other than my wife and kid, my fishes are what see's me through the stress and tension. And oh btw am not 30 yet but sadly getting there

Anyways lets get this show on the road

*My first fish was an Albino Oscar and my cousin made me buy him and even gave me his unused 3ft tank to start me off into this mission to keep fishes :)

8 years since, he is now a monster and is a survivor of many a catastrophe regarding which i will be mentioning later...

Here are a few pictures of him...this was taken a couple of years after i got him. In a 3x1.5x1.5, he was housed with a convict and a green terror.

I know i know stupid placement of a power filter :screwy:

Then as he started growing along with my passion for more fishes, i got him a 5x1.5x2ft tank along with a common FH, a Jag and a Texas. He was the Ruler Supreme of them all...the big bully! More so because my FH would not be bothered by such apparent trivial matters and preferred to keep swimming to and fro but more on that later :)

Anyways here are a few pics of that tank

The previous mix of fishes went on fine till one day my FH decided enough was enough and started conquering the tank...a veritable one fish army :)

My poor Oscar's ego took a mighty beating and it pained me to see a once mighty beast cowering in a cave...finally decided to take out the FH and my Oscar was back to being a badass in no time...

^ Thank you :)

Now moving on from my Oscar to my Midas/Red Devil \m/

Aptly named Lucifer he was my step forward into nasty predatorial cichlids :D

Whilst doing my MBA away from home, i used to frequent a LFS close to my place of stay and one day i noticed a rather unique looking fish way down in the bottom row of tanks and imagine to my horror it started butting the tank!!!

i was hooked :) and later when i was telling my cousin about this, he immediately wanted to have a look and confirmed that it was indeed a Devil :D

got him home and he became my fav fish...he was with me along with the Oscar in another tank for the two years and after completing my education, got them both nicely packed and thankfully they both survived a hot 10hr road trip back to home!

The Oscar adjusted immediately to the new conditions but took some days for Lucifer to adjust...

After that he was back to banging glass to my mother's horror :D

It was all so new to me...the glass banging...the gravel digging and piling up and the ferocious intensity with which it used to destroy tankmates!

Anyway here a few pics of him from when i got him first [when i got back home after college in 2005] in a temp tank to the time he was with me till he passed away...yea...sadly i lost him a year after that...found him all bent and twisted for no reason...even after nearly 4 years, he remains my most cherished aquatic companion ever...never been able to find a true blooded maniacal devil ever :(

Apologies for a few blurred ones
