You should think twice about putting them back into the lake, many people here will be very upset....trust me.

I know a secrete spot in MN that you can get baby Northerns easily, I don't tell people cause I know they will abuse it and catch as many as possible. I got one last year for my tank and he was the best fish I ever got. Too bad that sucker jumped out and went to heaven. This summer if I got space I'll go and get another one or two but for sure not get what I can't handle.

why sandtiger? I know a LFS owner that owned 3 northern pike and said they were some of the best fish he ever had.

If you have a big tank - why not?

said this in another post but 2 days ago i went spearing and saw some big pike like 40" plus and i speared a 42"" spotted gar.... it was frickin sweet....no pics tho...perhaps in the future!

Never put an aquarium fish back into a native environment, it can spread non-native diseases introduced from substrate, plants, etc. This is an absolute negative thing to do, and it's illegal!

Sorry to ruin your fun but tiger muskies are a hybrid, so they aren't native, but still a really cool fish.

Tiger Muskies are a cross between a Northern Pike and a Muskie, they occur naturally. They are native.

Still throwing an aquarium kept fish back into a lake...........even if it was originally from a lake..........is a big no no..........but I'll let the other guys give a lecture on this.
