They are not altifron. Altifrons don't develop red on their heads. Only read head tapajos do. Either way very nice geos and kelberi!!!! Tank is looking awesome!

Interesting. I think you are right & if you google Rio Arapiuns geophagus "orange head" comes up & those look like these little guys. That is AWESOME! I think they are gorgeous adults!
No problem! I have one my self. I personally like the altifrons more they get much bigger and their trailers are so beautiful!

I found cichla waaaaaay more addicting.
I peeked into the geo world and got bored really fast. Out they went.
Its cichla for me all day!
I believe the geo's had a big part in helping these wild caught Kels start taking pellets though. It just seemed way too easy & that's my theory!

I wouldn't mind having a group of geos in my tank. Think it would be nice. Where can I get some larger growing ones that won't break the bank?

So tomorrow I am heading north to New Jersey. I will be staying up there in 2014 so I will be doing more tank set ups in my home up there. I will continue to post as I do some new tanks. I will be moving my cichla in this tank up there once it's ready. I trained one of my employees at my facility in North Carolina how to maintain all these tanks & gave him the opportunity to make some cash in addition to his weekly salary. Win Win for him & I! Lots of changes... I am going to Brazil end of January (Bahia) maybe I will find some contacts for some real nice stuff to import!
