no, if anything the female is a little aggressive to the male. they spawn pretty regular so far. she layed eggs the end of september, and none of them got fertilized, then she layed eggs the end of october, ended up with about 15 -20 survivors. and then layed eggs end of november, i have about 100 babies right now at a half inch. and they are looking like they are going to spawn again any time.

Thanks for answering my question, I really appreciate it. Do you mind my asking what size tank you have them in? It's really tempting and the only extra tank I have is a 125g.
 
i keep my pair in a 6 foot 135. they are doing very well in it. by this summer i am hoping to upgrade them into there own 180.
