My Firemouth Cichlids laid eggs!

I noticed my Firemouth Cichlids were spending a lot of time digging a pit between two big rocks. Then I noticed the female what looked like to me eating stuff off of the big flat rock that they were excavating by. And today I found these!

How do they get them to stick to the rocks? Or are they just that sticky when they lay them?
