well i just filled the tank up and left a internal filter there for a couple of days and then i placed one of my canisters that i had in my 5 footer for another day or so and by the time i tested the water, it had no ammonia, no nitrite and 5ppm nitrate so i started pulling off my other canisters and placed it into the new tank.... and then started added fish in batches....i also added gravel from my other tank to speed things up.... so it was kinda pre-cycled, it took about a week before i added fish and i tested the water over and over and it still had only 5ppm of nitrate.... gotta love the increased tank volume..... so the tank is running for 2 weeks now, will do my first water change this weekend....

Tanks looks great...spoke too soon when I said that couldn't wait to see it fully setup and stocked.

BTW...monster of a flagtail you got there!

thanx guys, yeah i picked up the flagtail from someone who already had it grown to that size.... had it for a year now... its a very peaceful fish hehe~

How long does it take for a gourami to grow that big? I have two and have had them for a couple of months and they are no where near that size probably only 3-4".
