Hello all,

I am so surprise and excited see these eggs. After a long working day, i got home and found out these 2 are spawning that felt so good and forget all about work, not even tired any more. I have no attention to breed them. From what i read here and there, i don't think i 'll have any wigglers. but I am going to try anyway, i'll looking for some tanks for this pair. Can you any tell me what are their strains? their frys will be and there is any problem????

Thank you in advance,

MKD

I think there v-tails, so the fry should be v-tails unless im mistaken.

They are common, yes. Worth it to breed? I don't know, do you have a 75 gallon grow out tank for 200+ babies they could have, to get them old enough for selling size? If not, then no, they are not worth breeding.

if your local shops have a high demand for those angels then you could at least work out trades or credit. if you dont have space for grow out tanks and time to raise them id let the other fish eat the babies. its like turning flake food into live food ;)

I think its worth it just to expirance raiseing fry and watching a pair tend to fry. Have you ever raised fry before? people say you need room for 100s of fry thats not true you will lose a lot of fry before they get to be even an inch. first fish I raised were cory fry and only got 2 fry to live and I still have them. I lost the rest to a bad filter. I learned my lesson. Now I have a breeding pair of Blue angles that are tending to eggs right now.

Mine are in a 20gal alone. I am going to give it another try at raiseing fry. I like the practice for if I want to get a breeding pair of discus. Also it seems like everyone loves angels and they are not that hard to find homes for.

If they are in a community They have a very low chance at any fry living. Mine spawned in the community tank and I got wiggelers but once they started to swim they were lunch for other fish.

My angels just laid a bunch of eggs yesterday. Two-three times more eggs than they usually lay, but by the time I woke up, ~2/3 of the eggs were already eaten. I think it's because they are in a community tank, and they wanted to "protect" the eggs, so just ate them. Maybe one day I'll put them in a tank of their own, but right now all my other tanks are being inhabited by my fancy goldfish.

I had aranda fish before and don't have them anymore. They laid eggs but could not save wiggles. I am goint to try on Angels and setting 30g tank for them right now. Hopefully, it's ready by end of this week and i'll put them in there.

Once the breeding tank is ready put parents in wait a week and a half from the time the last spawned to be ready again. Good luck. Don't try and mover eggs with parents they will just eat the eggs . Let them star from scratch.

It's fun and easy raising Angelfish fry. I've breed them for many years, but the problem is always going to be finding a home for them. Get an inline sponge filter that has the bubbler attachment on it and let it get seasoned in the parents tank. You can grow them out in as small as a 10 gallon, but only for the first 3-4 weeks. I had 2 65 gallon long tanks with dividers that I would grow them out in after that. I had good results feeding them liquid fry and cooked yellow egg yoke that was finely crushed for the 1rst month then after that I would hatch fresh brine shrimp for them. You can leave them in the community tank and just put a piece of slate in their and pull the slate as soon as their done. I would actually grow mine out in 10 gallon planted shrimp tanks. I read that shrimp are amazing at keep the eggs clean and free of mold so it was a win win. The shrimp would get to feed from the eggs and the eggs almost always had a 95% hatch rate!
