My first Angel spawn in community tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Great info capabel. I have 2 filters (sponge and bio wheel filters). I am setting up hanging filter with bio wheel for 30G breeding tank, but will cover the intake line with fine sponge later this week, and sponge for 10G fry tank. Also, will get 55G tank soon.

Be careful putting any fry in a tank with an intake. Even if it's covered with sponge the suction no matter how little can and will drown small fry as they won't be able to swim away from the spong if sucked into it. I lost several fry this way even though it was covered with panty hose AND a sponge. I noticed several swimming toward the sponge to explore and possibly find food only to get sucked into the spong and never make it out.

For the first week or 2 I just keep mine in a 10 gallon clear bottom as water clarity is cruicial to their survival. I usually feed them twice a day and ANY food not eatin in the first 5 minutes is removed from the bottom with a small air hose on a chop stick that I would use as a "mini suction" device. I found anything larger than a 10 was very hard to keep un eatin food out of and clean enough for them to survive past a week.

hello guys,

these are in 30g tank now and it has been a while now from last time. Doesn't seem like they 're going to do it again. why??? maybe the water is not the same as original??

thank you,

I think they are just getting used to the new aquarium, when were they moved?. Temp? Try frozen brine and blood worms.

Give them one more week. What is the Temp of the water?

hooray i see some eggs. look at this, they chose filter intake instead. So i shut it off and keep sponge filter running make sure no one got sucked in the filter. In the mean time, should i do water change on normal schedule?? and setting up 10G in case need to separate the parents.

wish me luck guys!!!!

Good luck!!
Yeah, you can do water changes like normal just do about 10% because too much fresh tap water can damage the fry. Two, three days from now you should have wigglers!!! The Angelfish in the second to last pic on the left as an AMAZING fin pattern on the top fin.
