My first Aro!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've never had problems with my two wide bars and thin bar with my black aro. They do great.

That tank looks awesome.

He is absolutely beautiful and lots of luck with him.. stunning young one!

Thats an awesome lil dude. You tank looks incredible.

Pretty lil Silver Aro. As you guessed it your LFS is blowing smoke. There is no such thing as a Rainbow Aro (most young silvers have lots of pink and blue in them). Also Silvers are from South America a LONG WAY from Singapore as the Asian Aro's look more like Jardini's and are CITES restricted and cannot be bought in America.

Just for your knowledge I would trust NOTHING that Pet store ever tells me again. This is the growing trend in our hobby. Use buzz words to make the sell, call fish the rarest of rare.

Sorry for the rant, but it pisses me off. Anyway, Congrats on your new Silver he's one of my favorite fish and I'm sure you will come to love him too. Expect 18" by the end of 1yr.

Thanks Harley,
I knew something was up when I say they were selling 3 bar Indo Dats as "True" widebars for $135 each :WHOA: When I asked him about them he proclaimed those were Widebars then he opened up a book and showed me a "Datnoid microlepis" and said look it's a Widebar. Then I corrected hime again and said yup microlepis, Indo Dat.. then he kinda got pissed and would not talk to me anymore.

They did have the nicest sm aros though, but I dont plan on going back cause of that "Marketing Slang names, and falsefying fish and trying to pull the wool over customers eyes.

S - which shop is this?

I thought that shop was usually pretty good....

guess not?!?!

Hung Ming always have had those "rainbow" aros and they're kinda expensive too for a silver. I would never trust a store to ID a fish for me except for maybe the owner of Ocean Aquarium.
