My first attempt at HDR photography!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Your camera could have an auto bracketing feature depending on the cam you use. I have a d90 and I can set it to take 3 or more varying exposures automatically. All you have to do is hold the shutter down the whole time.

Anyways, nice hdr, its alot of fun to play with.

thanks :) i currently have a D40, so it doesnt have this feature. i have to do it all manually. but no worries!~

Very nice shot, nice colour and all. And i give the pic a 9.5, It would have been a 10 if it weren't for the trash on the right.

thanks guys. anybody else try this? i saw a recent thread by rallysman, he had some amazing pics.

and this is super easy to do. take a few shots, and simply upload them into photomatix. takes about 10 minutes! this gives the photographer control once again, as you know, when you shooting landscapes you're at the mercy of natural lighting. you have no control over outdoor lighting when shooting landscapes.

there's been many times where i've had good pics ruined simply because the sky was overcast or there was too much contrast with the bright sun. HDR allows you to capture all the shadows and highlights of a scene and merge them into one final pic.

but i have seen examples where people go too far with HDR and it makes the pic looks a little too surreal for my tastes. here's an example of going over the edge:

but this is one that is AMAZING!!

That's a really cool trick. I agree that the truck picture was too much. It's neat but it almost looks like a drawing not a picture.

Been trying the "trial" ones intill my new cameras show up. Pretty alright sun sets here. Also have to pick up a have filter, uv, and some other ones. I want to try HDR with mostly wide/fish eye lenses.

This one was taken by a member form AP....

Not my photo.
