My first betta

You couldn't really fit enough cories into that tank to make a comfortable school.

Plenty of smaller cats would be fun, though. Banjo cat, Hera jerdoni, BN pleco, things like that. Just research their needs and choose wisely.

just be careful when putting things with bettas. mine hated everything i ever put with him, even snails. be prepared to relocate in case he decides everything in the tank with him needs to die

I have a lovely school of white cloud mountain minnows with one of my bettas. They get along great and especially with enough plant cover they'll all be happy. Tetras are kind of hit or miss, I've heard people complain neon tetras have nipped their betta's fins. I never had that issue though, I've kept neons and bettas together with no problem. Do some research on white clouds and neons, as well as some of the other suggestions others have made and take it from there :)

Panda Corys are nice, they only get up to 1 1/2".:D (Get at least 3 of any Cory.) And they look nice on any substrate too. = Just making sure, what kind of Betta have you got? If it's one of the 'King' Bettas, or the kind that look like a big female betta but it's a male,......then I would not put any kind of life in there with it. I have one, not a 'nice' fish.
