My first "big" aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It wasn't the bulkhead itself that was leaking, but was just the threaded fitting going into the bulkhead. I didn't have a wrench quite big enough for that fitting so I couldn't properly tighten it, but thats fixed now.

Here are the promised pictures after changing rock work again, as well as organizing the cabinet, and the new additions. Enjoy and always open to suggestions!

Looks GREAT. My only complaint is the blue background and the rocks should be stacked even higher in order to get the mbunas to swim up there.

but other than that..looks great!

Went on a business this trip week, looks like enough algae starting to grow on the rocks to support some bottom feeders. Went and picked up 8 more assorted cichlids (1 albino, 2 dark blue/light blue peacocks, 3 orange, 1 electric yellow, and a very interesting one that looks like an elongated mbuna that is black and white striped on top half of body and pure yellow on bottom). Also added Purigen to the tank and added the moon light I ordered that arrived while away.

21 fish total now, have to see if this addition affects ammonia level at all due to additional of purigen as well. Still will probably add 10-20 more in the near future. All the fish that the store had left currently was electric yellows, which there are already 5 and trying to mix it up some.

Like so many others here, the bug has bit again and I am upgrading to a larger tank. This tank, stand, canopy, lids now for sale. Make an offer.
