Sorry to hear about your losses.. I hope the one you have left pulls through. You should remember to maintain to keep your tanks at 87 with juvies as their suceptible to ich and other diseases and feed them whatever they will eat at this size. you can worry about altering diets as they get bigger.. hope you get some more :)
ive had a close eye on him to see any kind of disease and his doing ok on his coloration and body form has only a swollen abdomen since they got to me nor eating anything.

hang in there. I'm glad I did :D

little ones are very sensitive. Personally, I wouldn't put them in w/ the cichlids you did.

you suggest to get rid of the festae, as the mbunas are there as feeders.

how long has the tank been setup honestly?

it has about a year and a half running with mainly small mbunas that where previosly moved before i got the shipment of cicla and festae o and a pleco that its been there since some six months that is still in there, since venom told me i did a 25% water change before i released the fish.

To add ;) Do not get discouraged ;) When first buying Cichla you will note that for many.. Many will not make it past the first day.

And most that do not make it through the first week.. Many of these are not the fault of the new Cichla Hobbiest ;) At 2" They prove to be even harder to keep to maturity ;) It is best for new Cichla hobbiests in my opinion to; if possible, pick up Cichla no less than 4-6"

:iagree:very true...
many die because they were already weak or sick before you bought them.
just listen to whatever advice has been given and youre good.
i used to have cichla below 3 inches die on me all the time.
now ive successfully bought 6 1" tems and got them to currently 7" thanks to all the good info from the guys here.
and yea....i wouldnt put any young cichla with aggessive cichlids...

thanks channarox and i know the best advice i would get will come from this forum, about the ciclids in with the cicla are all smaller so ive never seen them bother the cicla.

I found a lot of ocellaris today as well..

Unfortuniately.. they were in a tank with ICH.. thus i did not buy them..

Sadly i currently dont have a quartine tank for them.. and i didnt want my 150gallon to be infected with it..

But.. I was SO tempted to get the pbass... :(
