No one in the aquarium knew what these were called. Is this a thin bar ? Should I add salt to the water ? So far he looks healthy and ate some guppys

I believe that Is an Indonesian Datnoid but i am not as knowledgeable as many other Datnoid freaks on here. You can add salt like you would any other freshwater fish. Keep in mind this is a freshwater fish. Have fun!

yup, longisland is absolutely right! you have a nice little IT/indonesian tiger fish/Datnioides microlepis! grow him strong and you'll have a puppy with gills! get him on prepared food asap and love him!
