Well got the itch today and built a wet/ dry and overflow. 21 gallon rubbermaid stacked w/ 3 small 4 qt boxes( 2 for bio one for pads.) Will take some pictures as it was also our 2nd anniversary and the wife still let me play but the alcohol is getting to me. I need to finish up the spray bar as I ran out of 90's and Menards isn't open at 10:45. Also need a slighty smaller pump as the Quiet One 2100 or 2200 is almost too much for my 1" overflow as I have it split off but will use that line for a 25+ watt UV. Back to finishing my wine and some sleep. Pics tomorrow after work sometime.

Need some help, how high does the vent pipe need to be on overflow mine is just above the tank but I don't seem to get alot of suction as I have to redirect alot back to the sump? Pump is a quietone 2200 ~400 GPH at 40" head. Overflow is a 1" PVC hard plumbed to the sump only fittings after the overflow are 2 45's and a 90 where it dumps into the baskets. How much more does 1.25" flow?

Lots of pics, both Overflow and return. Return is 3/4" PVC plumbed and the overflow is 1" pvc plumbed. Pump is a Quiet One 2200 rated at ~600 GPH at 0 head. I may have switch to the smaller quiet one as I don't really want bigger piping in the 75. I'm not against tear it aprt and reusing parts if need be but I do like having 1 tube on each side of the tank. Thanks in advance. I'm hoping to run a UV off of the tee but right now it is too much flow for my small one.

Also the top of the vent is about 2" above the tank rim not sure if that make any difference?

Holy crap! Very nice! From the sounds of your first post I thought it was just a six-pack idea or something! You should put up an entire DIY for exactly how you did this, I would love to try and make one myself.

Wow. This was the first try you say? I am impressed.

It was, lots of good information here in the DIY section, not hard at all. I will take some pictures and do a write up once I get everything worked out.

Oh yeah, the smaller pump Quiet One 2100 $23 will pump ~200 GPH at 4' I'm at ~40". Also looking at the Mag Drive 5 which is ~300 at 4' not sure if I switch I can get the Quiet One for cheap locally though and I could use my tee to run my 9 watt uv off of it hopefully at a really low flow.

Now my tee is about in the middle of the vent what kind of difference would it make to drop it? I can drop it about 6" or so? I may end up going with 1.25 or 1.5" as I really hate to go with a smaller pump.
