Maybe you can pull the price of wood out or even to the top to help extract them? That’s exciting. Do they look fertilized?
They definitely aren't white. Yellowish/light brownish. So I am hoping so, but we'll see. The wood is weighted down w large rocks and is really heavy, I don't wanna take it out. And I can't find my scuba mask to go for a swim. Lol.
I can imagine that being quite the chore. How deep is the 1k gal you have them in.
4.5' deep. Looks like I'll probably wait for round 3 now. Shortly after posting last my big female castexi just had her first ever pup! Wasn't expecting until just after Xmas. Lol. Healthy female. Super excited!
At least half of the eggs r still there this time. If incubation time is as short as I read, maybe some fry in a day or 2? Fingers crossed.
Set up a smaller tank on a loop with this one so the fry will be on the same system. Tank looks very nice! Good job.
No doubt. This tank is on a flood, so I can adjust temp everyday. They get about 100 gallons of fresh almost everyday. I wanna set up a small tank in the filtration room so it gets refreshed on the same system. Hopefully by next spawn. I think it's the pleco eating the eggs. But he keeps the tank spotless and doesn't bother my Ray's w the driftwood in there.
Wow. That’s outstanding. Maybe you can scoop some fry before they get munched. Great news on the pup.
