My first FH

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
good looking FH and has good potential too

Thanks for the positive comment guys, I'll very happy with this pickup and will take good care of him

Very Nice FH indeed! Love the pearling and the deep base red he has!!! More and more of these Thai breeders are coming up with names for the strains they are creating. I love the name Ghost Rider but I would much rather know that it was a cross between this male and this female to create this beautiful fish. Was he from Thailand?? The other question I have is how much did he end up costing for fish and shipping?

I actually bought him from a lfs that specializes in flowerhorns and they do get them from thailand.

Update on my kamfa, he's getting a lot better and I feel like his hump is getting a better shape up as well but maybe its just me since my gf said it didnt lol..What do you guys feed your fh? How do we make them more aggressive/active? He's a bit too 'calm'..

*Sorry for the crappy pics

Looks like the kok is popping, good job. I'm sure most name brand foods with 40%+ protein is good. For me I have a jar that's mixed NLS Thera plus, ionic, formula 2 pellets and saki hikari goldfish food. Veggies are suppose to enhance the blues and he loves that formula 2. My flowerhorn, blood parrot, ranchu and other tanks get the mix. For me I believe variety does it. On the flip side my bro only feeds his flowerhorn spectrum and it's turning out pretty beast. Keep up the good work, Cheers...

Thanks man. I'm feeding mines GS, cichlid gold, and freeze dried shrimp. He doesn't eat the new life spectrum..He spits it out after a bite. BTW what "veggies" are you talking about?

Veggies are in the Ocean Nutrition Formula 2 pellets. It's designed for herbivores and uses spiralina and other veggie sources. Any food for herbivores should work. He also eats pea cores. My goldfishes love that stuff so I tossed him a few one day and he was all over it. Also helps them clear the gut, major fiber.

A red dragon I owned wouldn't eat spectrum either. I found out later that if I soaked it before hand she would eat a little. It took her a short while after that to get used to eating it straight. Good luck...
