A high protein diet causes problems. Keep it balanced and mix in them veggies.
what you do mean by balanced ? and how do I feed him Veggies ? like cut carrot into small piece and throw in or how ? Please let me know.
Thanks

Chops a good staple food like hikari gold for everyday feeding. Choose the appropriate pellet size for the fish. Feeding to much protein( other fish) is bad for their kidneys and intestinal track, cause blockages and bloat, and shortening lifespan. Also feed it veggies like boiled de-shelled peas, small bits of lettuce cabbage. Hell even veggie flakes. The roughage will keep intestinal tract clear. Also I feed mine a couple mealworms 1-2 times a week as a treat. I make sure to load mealworms with food like carrots, cabbage, romaine lettuce. Hope that helps. But best of all is water change, water change!

Thanks I just bought Hikari Bio Gold as everyday feeding and sometime will feed him veggie too. I also did buy some Krill Shrim for treat. Hope that will help him grow.
I plan to do water change every 2 weeks as he is by himself in 90 gallons tank with 2 big filter Fluval 110 and Emperor 400. I am waiting for my aquenon cleaning tube to come so I can do the 1st water change.
