Cheap and easy, 55gallon barrel (the big plastic ones), input on the bottom from your pump, egg crate to keep media off bottom. media-lava rocks and polyfill (polyester pillow stuffing from the fabric store) if your broke like me! Install in series with a second barrell if you feel the need for more capacity. output from the top of the barrel into the pond.

Expensive but proven, are any of the off the shelf systems and actual filter media rolls.

Thanks for the advice!!!

UPDATE

Pond is almost cycled!!!!:D

Ammonia= 0ppm
Nitrite= 0.1ppm

A couple more days and this baby is ready to go:headbang2
Why don't you used your tank filter materials in your pond filter?
You have too much patient to wait my friend!

Come on....i can't wait to see that juicy cat in her new home!!:headbang2

when I had to move my big cats I did what you said lowered the water level then I used an old military laundry bag to catch them in and move them no damage to the fins or too much stress on the big cats a 20" rtc and a 28" or so rtc x tsn cross as for the heaters I had a ghetto filter setup as well and I put my heaters in the bottom drawer the heaters stayed under the water level in the bottom drawer so the water stayed at 78 degrees and my heaters didnt get smashed at feeding time HTH Mike :nilly:

In aquaculture round tanks are a good thing due to the lack of dead spots that a tank with corners will get!!!
