I believe I did get the idea from that thread. Its a great easy design, and I always get compliments on it.

Well, Ive just recieved my new pool and liner from ebay. Going with the same design but different dimensions.
The old pools were 5'3x 4'2x 20" and the new one is 8'8x 5'10x 24" (660 gallons).
So thats an extra 400 gallons or so that she gets to swim around in. She'll need it too, as well as some extra TLC when she gets here.

awesome bio tower, i have similar setup for my tank. part of it is also sitting inside the water, im planning to place a bubble disk directly under so there is circulation throughout.
