I went to get some Minnows for my pond when some lady asked the employee something about an Oscar. He said he didn't know anything about Oscars. She looked at me and I asked if she had a question. She asked if she can keep 2 Oscars in a 10g tank. Of course I told her she couldn't and I suggested a 55g to 75g for 1 Oscar. And she would probably be able to keep that Oscar in a 10g for 3 months at most (3" Oscar). The guy walked away while rolling his eyes :WTF: It's not like he knew the answer. And when I went to go pay for my Minnows the manager came up and told me that the employees are perfectly capable of answering costumers' questions and to prevent wrong information, I should have found another employee to assist her and that I shouldn't "scare" people from making a purchase! Again...:WTF: I told her that I don't know what her employee told her, but he didn't answer the customer's question and as a hobbyist of 20 years, I'm pretty sure I knew what I was talking about. And I basically tried to up sale that costumer to a 55g or 75g tank!

stupid people they would have told her yes,my buddy bought a blue channel and the lfs told him it could stay for life in his 29 needless to say he wont beleive me

at the store i work at if a customer wants to keep a big fish in a small tank, and we tell them it wont work, but they still want the fish, we still have to sell them the fish but we can revoke the 1 week garuntee

haha, thats great. Its a good thing she didn't get mad when you told her she couldn't do that.

Nah...she was actually glad cuz her daughter wanted it, but she wasn't much of a fan of Oscars. She said if she got a tank as big as a 55g she would want more fish. I suggested some Congo Tetras and a few African Brown Knives. I told her about my "African Oddball" theme tank and she and her daughters seemed interested.

i love to go to my lfs and act like i dont know anything just to see how deceiving the sales reps. are.

no kidding dude. i stayed at walmart one time for about 3 hours one time to see how many people i could help before they could.

more people asked about the tiger barbs in a betta bowl than i could count.

your doing good when you make know it all managers and employees wanna punch you in the face cause you made them look the biggest idiot in the world..... this is why i wont go to corperate stores or most lfs stores....

Again, management was putting the dollar ahead of the welfare of the fish, the only damn reason they stock commons!

Keep your head in these situations, and forget crying managers, tell any potential owner the RIGHT information like you did.
