Wow some real weirdos in the world. I just went to an lps a couple weeks back to give away some guppies but other than that haven't bought a fish in a year,going nuts.

i do the same, i whent to buy a few discus for my tank but thought that i can play around with the saleswomen that was serving me, and old Scottish lady lol. So she asked me what size my tank was and i told her 20 Gal.(joking). Then shes like ooo minimun is 35 Gal.bassman440;1973755; said:

Then she goes on about how to breed guppies forabout 20 mins including the fact that a couple days after the full mooon they will start dropping their eggs (don't even know if thats wrong but wtv..) then she just randomly walks away and never even gave me my discus

it said blue diamond discus on the aquarium and i didnt see any so i asked her which ones the blue diamond was and she points at a pigeon blood and said that it turned that color bc if stress...wow lol
Typical LFS Australia is full of BAD LFS giving Bad info because they just want a sale. I have resorted to buy products either online or Direct from breeders or people on Forums.Maybe the manager if he had any sense should have offerd you a job instead of being rude arrogant moron. Some Mothers do have em!
A VIEW THE OTHER WAY
I went to a LPS in the city and while I was in there I got some feeders. I too like to quiz the staff to find out if they know anything and what kind of misinformation as passed out. The girl helping me this day and ever since when I go there was very knowledgable. as I was getting some large feeders she asked about my tank and I filled her in on what I had. she asked me a few questions and was able to pass on some advice to her and her tanks. It turns out she has a awesome collection of sharks and Discus. though this isn't my favorite place to get fish it is closer than the one I like. they are more expensive but when you need to scratch the fish itch its closer lol. I have since got to see her tanks and She definatly Qualifys as a fish nut. Last time I was at the store she was promoted to Store Manager and she is only 26. She did advise people not to get certain fish and instead pointed people in the direction of what might be a suitable replacement. a breath of fresh air considering right down the street is another pet store that I feel like I will kill my fish just by walking into the fish department. it stinks its filthy the service is horrible and when you listen to parents getting there kid afish they all comment on the smell and how they dont want a big tank cause they dont want there house to smell fishy all the time. and they sure will sell you a young osker to put in with your tank full of guppys.

Oh my favorite was Petsmart girl gonna sell me a 29 gal tank with an oscar, pleco, swordtails, and goldfish. I asked her isnt that oscar mean though? Wont he eat the others....She stated and I swear "No their only mean to other oscars" Now picture this I am facing her with a background of the tanks behind her and what da ya see but many oscars in one tank. I asked her again trying to hide my smile/smirk. She stated "No they only beat up their own kind and I have the exact same setup at home." I kid you not. I couldnt help myself I busted out laughing so bad manager came up as she ran off crying.
