Hi' All,

I picked up this little beauty today at Pier Aquatics, it's only a few inch#s long. I've put it in my 4x2x2 with some larger tank mates. I only got it home a few hours ago so it's spent most of it's time near the fx5 output out the way, unfortuantly makes it a bugger to get a picture of as i dont have a zoom lense:(

Anyone care to give an ID and any decent advise to getting them eating at this size? I've got live earthworms , frozen bloodworm and pellets. I have just brought a bunch of platy's and put them in a seperate tank so get some feeder fish for it.

How small is it. Looks like a scomb to me. has it a black spot behind the gill or a vertical patch?
Hi'

It's got a little black spot on back of both the gills, its about 3 inches

If it's a Scomb he'll probably never eat anything other than live fish. The Scomb will have a circular spot behind the gill plate and the small top fin just before the tail will be clear with a black dot. Good news is he'll never outgrow the tank.

i did have a platy in the tank but it didnt get eaten, the platy if quite big compared to the fish, say about 40-50 % of the size. Will keep trying iwth worms and things as their's a strong current in the tank so they should keep moving about. Eat or die i guess!
