I'm happy to hear that, congrats!!!

The bass was in very poor condition tho. I have been catching ones just like that, it probaly an effect from spawning!!!

Congrats on the new addiction. I caught my first LMB as 12 years old and have been hooked ever since.

18" healthy bass should be close to 5 pounds or more.

I caught a 20" last summer and it was 4.5 lbs. It looked pretty healthy at that size. I agree an 18" large mouth should be at least 3lbs.

Either way, nice catch! I would love to find some bigger largemouth around my area.

Looks like your going to eat him. I've fished lmb all my life and have never eaten one, the runoff into the lakes i catch them out of always made me hesitant. Any opinions on how they taste??
