My first loss in over 15 years

Thank you for your comments.

He was not breeding but was 4 inches. I started out keeping goldfish and livebearers when I when I was younger but moved on the longer lived fish such as larger catfish, cichlids and more recently red hooks.

I think think that I have just been lucky and the modern technology has also made a difference.

We have a male congo that somehow tore a chunk out of his lower jaw and is going downhill fast - ours are nice and old too, probably about the same size as yours. I feel your loss; ours is probably going to die in the next few days despite treatment . . .
