My first loss

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks all.
shes still there, i just cant face throwing her out, i know i have to but...il do it later when my nextdoor neighbour comes home from work and let him do it.
id like to bury her but know she would probably end up being dug up and in someone elses garden...not the best thing to wake up to the cat dragging in.

oh no, well i hope it pulls through.
just kinda makes me wonder why i have pets. i know i get upset so why do it.

They're a part of who you are as a person, taking them away is taking away a part of yourself. It's a tough thing to go through, we become very attached to our animals. But all you can do is pick up the pieces and keep going.

I often ask myself why I keep animals too - the only answer is they give me so many happy times while they are here. If it wasn't for all the happy times it wouldn't hurt so bad when they are gone.

I am sorry for your loss.
this^

sorry for your loss:(

If I were on your side of the pond I would totally do a skeleton memorial so that you could keep her without taking up a ton of space in the freezer. Reptile people usually do have a freezer of their past friends because they are just so hard to throw away like that. Maybe you could come up with some sort of unique memorial for her. Do you have an old shed skin or something?

Because it's an amazing and inspiring thing when they live. Sure they die, and it sucks... but the fact that the animal lived and probably had a better life with you then it ever would have otherwise is a great thing, never forget that:) I often wonder why I do it too when I suffer a tough loss.

tbh i didnt even thin of putting her in the freezer...shame actually.
i did think about the skeleton memorial, but wouldnt know where to start. i was saying to my mum last night its a shame i couldnt just preserve the way she died, she looked so comfortable and peaceful.
