its funny you say that, ive been feeding and take about 5 steps backs and he comes out the minute he thinks im not there lolMine would also eat better if I stepped out of the room. He only started eating in front of me the last couple of days.

+1Well, dovii are notoriously shy when under 12" long, so I would say don't worry about it too much. Some dither fish may help it to come out more. Convict cichlids might be appropriate. But, the dovii may kill them especially since it is already getting large, in a 110 gallon. I think you would get better growth in something larger, 6 more months sounds like a long time in a 110 at 10" already to me. If it's possible I would be looking for a 300+ for your next upgrade, the fish will definitely need it. It is a good looking dovii, the yellow on the costa Ricans is quite nice.

Yeah I might try convicts as either fish whether they get killed or not, just to see if he comes out more, also yeah 6 months may have been generous, but I hope to have the new tank for him realistically for August, once he gets in his new tank I have a female red tiger moto.
