MY FIRST MONSTER FISH IN MY 300 GAL

yes be patient will include pics I promise the small albino tin is now eating a few flakes a day thats all I'm giving him at this point with no filter just airator. Put my driftwood in tonight will start adding more water, so far only 100 gals 1/3 full. Wanted to keep the level low for the driftwood project now that its done after work tomorrow will add water and put plastic plants in. Baught at real good price fancy plants, very tall 36 inches tall so the top 6 inches will go sideways at top of tank.
 
day 4 for the small albino tinfoil barb alone in the 300 gal. He refused flakes today, yesterday he ate a few. Are flake foods usually refused my many fish?, is flake food very low quality food?

I put in a couple of tiny pieces of shrimp from dinner, he only ate one small piece, I was surprised

So exactly what fish have you kept in the past? What type of fish food do you have?
 
The last tannk I had for about 6 years was a piranha tank with 3 in it. so scared all the time, did not like the tank. Right now only one very small albino tinfoil barb.
 
Oh, so frozen or live brine shrimp is the best at this stage?
