After a few years of keeping a few tanks with just boring things (tetra's, a few dwarf cichlids, angels, stand catfish's etc) I've cut down to one tank and done a species tank for a single African Butterfly Fish (I might up some upside down catfish for some bottom dwellers). For the time being this is my 'monster' fish :P

Although nothing special, I thought I'd just share some pictures of it all.

Tank was designed with the fish in mind, hence lots of surface plants and wood breaking the surface for it to lurk under. The tank itself can hold about 37gallons, but it's only about half full.

nice I love it. iv kept them in the past if u get live bugs he should take them from the branches.

Because of tank size constraints and desire for a light stocking, not to mention the fact that in Australia we can't get ANY interesting fish. I settled for this guy. I've been happy though, still a little slow to get onto prepared foods but he hunts to down flies pretty savagely!

Luckiest butterfly fish out there lol, very nice set up think a few dwarf frogs would look good in there an maybe a small shoal of tetras would really make it pop. Beautiful none the less.

Hahaha love your thoughts but in Australia we can get very few fish (compared to America), so no frogs, no climbing perch and don't even get me started on what else we CAN'T have!

I might down the track. At the moment just letting the tank mature a bit. Only problem with adding other things is the water volume. Because of keeping it low for the butterfly (to make sure it doesn't jump and it has things breaking the surface) the water volume is severely compromised. So I'll have to see down the track. I die if this thing jumps out :P
