My first 'Monster' fish!...Well a small monster...

Cool fish and tank... The only thing that i just can't help but comment on is the heater... if you could possibly hide that behind some of the deco, then it would finish off the look of the tank perfectly imo :)

Awesome tank. I like how you specificaly designed the tank around the fishs needs. Cudos

I knew someone would point the heater out :P I know, I know! It's ugly and I've got some bolbitis on the way to grow hopefully all over the right hand side to hide the intake and heater.

Seriously though, someone really needs to design a good aquarium heater.

Didnt mean to call you put on that, since the tank does look good...

But i definitely agree someone needs to design good looking heaters, although not sure how to make a heater look "nice"

Thought I'd give a bit of an update of this tank and its inhabitants!

The butterfly's going really well, had a few problems with feeding, flow and where the fish wanted to be to avoid flow. That's been all sorted out with hid little hula hoop made from airline. It keeps a spot free from plants in an area with no flow!

Also managed to get some relatively rare African tetra's! Yellow tail congo tetra's! In about 4 years of going to fish shops I haven't seen them once and apparently the don't show up regularly!

Really stunning fish, photos DO NOT do the justice! The males have electric blue down the back and an incredible lemon yellow tail, and the female is the brown one :P

And the last inhabitant is a jewel cichlid! Best addition so far! The tetras were SUPER shy before adding this guy weeks later! And now they're completely out of the shells! I only hope it remains a relaxed fish and doesn't slaughter anything! Fingers crossed as I know it was a bit of a gamble!

So on the whole, it's evolved into quite the little Congo themed tank and I'm really happy with how it's turned out.

Very nice set up !! I love how you stuck with african riverine fish. I'm not really into the African thing, but you nailed it. Great job !!
