Here you go folks. Lake Mille Lacs, Minnesota. Enjoy!

First up is my old daffer. This is his first muskie as well. This guy nailed a Large perch-colored spinner bait. @ 30 inches.

And next is a smaller pike I caught while on the water. He hit a Super Shad - by Rapala.

And lastly, my muskie. This guy hit a Super shad as well. Fire Tiger color pattern. I saw him follow me up right to the boat. I dipped down for a figure eight, and he hit me hard on the way back out.... it was awesome!

Thanks. I couldn't keep him. He was in the slot. For muskies on Mille Lacs this year, you can only keep one over 48". I'd love to get a nice mount of a fish like that sometime though.

Thanks. Yea, the smaller guy was definitely more colorful. Maybe their color fades as they get larger? I dunno.

IMO the cost of taxidermy wouldn't be worth it for a muskie under that size anyways. I've had a couple at the 50"+ mark before, wonderful fish and amazing fighters.

Whats your take on the Replicas XR. I've heard some people say they are better because they last longer, but I've also heard people say that they aren't 'the same'.

50"+?! Man that'd be huge. Do you have any mounts?

i have no mounts, i'm strickly catch and release. I try to bring a buddy or a camera to verify my catches. a buddy took pics of one of them, i don't have the card or the pic to show though.

It's all up to the catcher, Some people want to keep and show there trophy for as long as they can, i personally find it majestic to let the monster see another day.

a taxederm even a replica never show the Fight or the memory of the fight like pictures can.

But if i caught a 60"er and it died on my line i might consider taxedermy.

replica's don't do it for myself.

if its your first its worth it i think and you dont have to keep the fish just get measurements and lots of pics.
