Vented them before putting them in the tank - a pair :D

Still minuano?:)

Any tips for a pike newbie would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like a minuano to me I have a pair as well. Keep an eye out for overly aggressive behavior or you would end up with just one. Good luck.

Thanks guys. They are in a 90 with a breeding pair of w/c C. dimerus. Will keep an eye on them.

nice minuanos. wasnt sure on the id from your other post but those are definitely minuanos.

i might suggest adding some sort of dither fish into the tank. maybe some silver dollars.

Rainbow fish make really great dithers for Minuano. They look great! Do you know the collection location for this pair? Do you have more pics of the male? I have never noticed the tail pattern on Minuano before, it's the same as on Missioniera!

Thanks guys :) I'll try to take more pics of the male. These were collected by Ken last winter, so I guess it's somewhere near Bella Union.

They are in a 90 with a pair of C. dimerus, collected from a small stream near Bella Union (per Felipe), and a trio of G.n. sp. "Yi" that came with the pikes. There are a few bleeding heart tetras as dithers....hope they get along - the C. dimerus can be really mean when they breed.

Everyone sees the light eventually, it just takes some longer to take off the shades ...

Finally, Crenicichla has come to peathenster!!!
