So I've been looking to do a nano for quite some time now and finally got around to do it!
This tread is basically just documenting the changes in the tank and my first planted.Thought people would also find it interesting.
So here's what I set up just tonight,
The tank is a 2.5 gallon bow front which was actually my first tank ever that I have owned, had it for years and have finally decided to do something with it.View attachment 889300
The lights are 2 CFL one is 14w the other is 7w
View attachment 889302
I decided to add dirt on the bottom because I heard it was good but not alot maybe about .5 inches
View attachment 889303
Here's the dirt in the tank
View attachment 889304
Capped it with sand
View attachment 889306
And filled it up

The sand is sloped and is 1 inch in the front and 2 in the back
So ya feel free to add any suggestions so ya I'm going to my lfs to get plants ( ill wait maybe 2 week or sooner if all the parameters look good I will use an API master Freshwater test kit to do so) so any plant suggestion easy to care for and hardy also that look nice too 😄 also would I need a filter? I'm planning on making a mini overflow which I've done before on this tank but scraped it. Hope you guys enjoy!!

deffinatly get some java fern. lowlight hardy i like the look of it and from the plants i bought a couple of months ago i have about 6 little plants that grew of the dieing leaves so i can fill my tank up with plants a little more for free.

just started my planted tank...amazon sword (got a decent sized one with runners already) and a larger Java Fern that I cut to 2 plantings...also got some weird crypts that were kind of in the roots. Sword lost some of the older leaves, but has new ones coming in...java fern just is kind of moping along, but it is supposed to be a slow grower. Also I have some Dracena " lucky bamboo? in the tank too...just make sure it's leaves are out of the water and it keep growing.
