Nice, how big is the tank your keeping it in?
300 wide for a year or so hopefully

:( She died.

I was home all weekend except from 12 to 5 today and she was doing fine and even ate last night and obviously wasn't skinny to begin with. I noticed that she hadn't moved in a while, so I checked her out and she's not breathing or anything and I checked her a couple hours ago :irked: There's only one mark on her but no signs of being picked on, even her eyes are still fine and she still looks alive (coloration). Everyone else is fine and eating well.

I noticed that one of my filters had stopped running. I figured it caused an ammonia spike, but I'm not reading any. There is a tiny bit of nitrites lowest reading above 0, but that's it. Temp is about 87 and pH is around 6.5

I'm so pissed and distraught...what a waste of a beautiful ray. IDK what I'm going to do. What else could have gone wrong? I have heard how they look and stuff when they're not doing well, but I didn't see any signs. How could she be fine in my tank for over 24 hours and then just croak?

I've never heard of a healthy ray needing help to flip itself over. Something probably went wrong while transporting or shipping. Was it active and eating before you purchased it? It might have been really stressed when you put it in the tank and tank mates might have stressed it more. Really hard to tell. Good thing you started out with a Motoro. Don't give up yet. It happens to the most experienced ray keepers.

Sorry bout your ray....

well, it was pretty stressed as it had been floating in a bag for 5 hours before I picked it up. I've never had a ray before, so IDK how fast they normally breathe, but it was breathing a little heavy when I got it (I was told) and it didn't seem to slow down too much. The water in the bag was VERY dirty. I never saw anyone mess with it, though. I just don't think it ever got settled. However, when I went to take the pictures that I posted earlier, it cam up to the front of the tank pretty quickly as it was posing, lol.

btw, my temp is 84, not 87
