Very cute rays dude, just watch that jar for turning nasty on em.

Thanx ^^ i have instructed the maid to look watch out for the jar ...<sigh> ... unfortunately it is not big enough for the outdoor com tank yet. My jar does not seem to very agro ...yet? may be cos of ex-paima presence ... so far so good, as you can see, the silver still have his finnage intact

So far he is playing nice let's hope things will stay that way. I might move in the other two silvers (and asian) into this tank ... i did not have enough energy last weekend

I have received a phonecall from home and one ray puppy is dead!!!!! No marks or anything - the other one is fine and still eating and everything.

This is most depressing after 5 days only!!!! He was eating normally (blood worms and small shrimp pieces). i never had anything die that fast before - ALL previous deaths were from being munched by larger tank mates.

No, jar or silver did not kill him. No bite marks at all. Disk is undamaged. No torn fins on anyone either.

Could it be that i got too young pups? The shop owner said they were only 2 months old (5" disk), but i did not make anything out of it

I don't know whether to get another one or not!!! THIS IS SOOOOOOOOO DEPRESSING! Worst of all, i don't even know what is wrong.

The remaining ray pup is still alive and well. Eating and swimming around with bichir (surrogate parent?).

Just added some really small feeders in case he (she?) gets peckish... hopefully aro and jar will not be interested in undersized feeders.

I'd say if the little fella lasts couple of weeks then he ll be OK - i hope

Well the surviving male (got claspers) motoro puppy is doing well now. Eating and not being scared of his large tank mates. That is a relief. I was a little bit concerned that silver or jar will be giving him trouble or he gets caught in their power struggle when i moved paimas outdoor

Grows surprisingly fast too. Picky eater though. At the moment he accepts only shrimp ... he is spoiling his tank mates, now that jar and silver as well as bichir got a taste for prawns they do not want to eat pellets and crikets no more ... he is fed three times a day

He is definitely not camera or people shy. Sorry for still poor camera skills

PS: is it me or what? I find the rippling of ray's disk when swimming very hypnotic ^^

My little puppy is coming along just nicely....more difficult to photo than i thought cos when the flash goes off then he comes close to the edge to investigate. Eats alot of small shrimp ... not sure if it eat other things like crickets that fall to the bottom ...

He does not seem to be bothered by the aros and jar
