My First Rifle

Just got my first Rifle this week

Its a 1943 91/30 Mosin Nagant from the Izhevsk Arsenal

Still havent shot it yet but i managed to get all of the cosmoline off of it, just need to sweat the stock some more to get the rest out of it.

What do you mean by unusual, and thanks for the complement.
 
most people just get like a 22 or something for their first rifle, you dont see many of these. i love it though! i bet its dead accurate. let us know when you shoot it!

Oh i understand what you mean. This isnt the first rifle i have handled. I shot a lot of other stuff like ARs SKS a different mosin, a 12 gauge and my uncle's glock.
 
yeah sounds about right lol. ive handled all of those and many more, i cant ever have enough guns. have you ever shot a mini 14? more or less a compact m-14? they are so small, virtually no recoil, and ridiculously accurate, just lack the power of an ak or m16
 
Very nice mosin! I was really tempted to get one when I went to a Cabela's once, unfortunately I was on the road representing my college at high schools and that wouldn't have been a good thing to have laying in the car while visiting schools, haha.
 
That was the first rifle i bought as well. Its a great and reliable gun. Lound as hell though haha. How much did that set you back. Got mine for $140 with a bayonet, sling, and some other stuff.
