That was the first rifle i bought as well. Its a great and reliable gun. Lound as hell though haha. How much did that set you back. Got mine for $140 with a bayonet, sling, and some other stuff.

127 with tax and the whole strap pouch bayonet and tool kit.

Mini 14 lacking power compared to m16? It was my understanding both used the same .223 round. What am i missing??

Thats about right, some may be chambered in .223, some in both .223 and 5.56. As far as I know the Mini-14 is .223 only, not gonna googleit cause I dont care that much to verify.
A M-14 howerev is a whole different animal, and is comparable with the AR-10 in caliber. .308 or 7.62x51mm. A man killer not a man crippler.

I wish I had bought em by the crate full when they were $50 a piece not too long ago.

Me too. When I bought mine a few years ago it was $80. Now they're going for $100+ on average.

my apologies i forgot that the m16's 5.56 round is almost identical to the remington .223, dont really know what i was thinking.

One thing i dont like is the metal buttplate.

Helpful hint... Take the action out of the stock and wrap the stock in a Black plastic bag. Put this in your car trunk or if you can the dash or back window. It will sweat out the cosmoline quickly.

Good looking referb your going to love that gal or hate it.... Sometimes both.
