the problem is when it doesnt move enough water..., then you have flodding isues., also this is why people intigrate a ball valve into there overflows, to controle the flow...

Actually, that is backwards. A system designed like that will flood when the power is shut off.

The overflows need to flow more water than the pump can push. Progressively smaller pumps all the way to zero flow will not cause flooding. This is a requirement for well designed systems to survive power outages.

Another requirement is that the system must start back up without your help when the power is restored.

Everyone is building right now and I am having a hard time keeping up with who has what. If you already have something in the works with a thread going, PM me the link.

Geez..still having problems huh?

Do yourself a favor...either get a used HOB overflow box and use that..place your DIY W/D under your tank in the cabinet or just get a regular HOB filter like AC or Tetra, or get a canister filter. Seems like you're putting more effort into it and its not helpful to your inhabitants.

Not trying to sound or be rude...but it seems like you're going around in circles or fail to understand what others here are explaining to you. Not everyone is "mechanically inclined".

The best thing for now is to get over-the-counter filters until you get a bigger tank that comes pre-drilled for the overflow and return lines, then making a WD will be a snap.

One last thing, you really should mount your powerstrip away from the w/d and above the floor. Last thing you want is getting electrocuted or worse cause an electrical fire.
