My first Trimacs:)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One of my favorite species; looks amazing when full grown. I have a male about 13" alone in a 125 can't keep anything with it...

Nice, I am pretty sure I have narrowed down my next fish to a Trimac or Midas not sure yet. Looking forward to the updates when they get some size!

They look good, congrets! I love the "Dragon's Tears" too. I have a young male about 3.5" from the pair I had that has them. They are very personable fish that show no fear. I've started to move away from the big aggro CA's a little but can't bring myself to let him go. They're beautiful, smart aquatic Pit Bulls what's not to love! Good Luck with them, they will so be your favorite fish, I'm sure.

Thank you and I know what you mean about having a hard time parting with them;) And they are already close to the top of my favorites now:)

Nice pair Jason! I bought a Trimac off Ira like a month or two ago. He is turning into a beast.

Thank you, Post some pics if you can i would love to see him:)

Do you have any updates of your male? If heard all kinds of stories about their aggression, hopefully mine will stay paired out and their bond will continue to grow over the years as i would hate to have to go to a solo male but i would if i had to.

:) Trimac, Trimac, Trimac lol I have just moved them in to a 125 with 6 brasilliensis as dithers and they have paired off immediately and are running the tank looking for a spot to spawn:) i will post another update next week or so

nice Jason, they look like they are already pairing for you. Only a matter of time

Thank you, I had them paired in the 30 gal but didnt want them spawning before moving them into the 125. cause then i would have to either leave them in the 30 for a couple of weeks or pull them off the batch since i want them in the 125 asap. and i dont want to make any hasty decisions if they would have and possibly tarnish such an early bond. I like all my keeper pairs to raise their first batch to strengthen the bond

I'll try to get updates, but its hard to get a pic when he's constantly trying to kill me through the glass; maybe I can get a video.

Well my pair is officially bonded as of today!! i went in to feed them today and BAM I got eggs:) So im glad i was able to get them into the 125 before they spawned lol

Here is my first batch of Trimac fry and the parents. the male is 4.5" and female is 3.75" I removed all of their tankmates the day the fry became free swimming so they could have the entire 125 to themselves. So far i havent had any aggression towards each other but i do realize they are still young lol
