My first turtle tank

Southern, I have 6 unsexed small turtles with tons of plastic plants. If they get it in their mouth while chasing a pellet, they don't bite it off and swallow it... They know it's not food and spit it out. Don't worry about it, just keep an eye on it.

They love eating live plants, and plants such as elodea should be provided. Plastic plants can be bitten off. My teacher's map turtle died from it. They found plastic chips in her gut
