Hi Peter... Nice looking fish.. Better get used to the idea of fish occasionally being picked on if you're gonna have CAs.. the aggresssion level is quite different to what you are used to with the eartheaters etc.... but they are beautiful fish and once they settle into a pecking order they might all get along... you just never know.. and with a pair in there it just might get very interesting very fast.. I agree the fin might grow back.. I've had it happen a few times.. with your wonderful care I'm sure there is a good chance.. Congrats on the new purchases.. Glad I don't live closer to you and Ken ..I would be in soooo much trouble... my eartheater addiction is bad enough and you are my "enabler":ROFL::ROFL:.. Take care... Sue:D

Those are both great fish! Even if the Argentea's fin doesn't grow back he still killer!

How big is the Synspilum in the back round? They are syns right?? LOL:screwy:

Thanks ;). The syns are young adults. Females is about 5.5" and male 6.5" (eyeballing).

LOL Thanks Sue. Just one CA tank for me...for now :D

Wow Peter, you are stepping up to some real tough ones there! I really like the argentea. It's fin should heal no problem. I'm afraid your GT won't stand a chance with it though. What are you planning for those big meanies?

They look great!!

LOL my plan? I didn't expect Ken would net it out and throw it in my cooler :D:D This is the kind of fish that you get first and plan later :D

Seriously tho, the plan was to give the GT to Ken, and keep a syns pair in the 120. He didn't have room for the GT and somehow conviced me over crowding = peace. I'm keeping an close eye on it. So far it's picking specifically on the GT, but it has been threats only and no damage.

Suggestions? ;)

I've never had any luck with any of the meanier viejas with tankmates. If you are getting rid of the GT You should be OK for a little bit but who knows. If you wanted to keep the GT you might try a regani or something. Viegas are very pretty, but I've only had success with heterospilus an regani with tankmates. I guess time will tell.

Peter traded me a lot of his adult S. Americans for the syn pair and 4, 3" carpintis which I assume are also in that tank, He's been eyeballing the argentia every time he comes out, I was growing it out for a show fish, but the split in the fin has not healed right in 6 months so I just gave it to him, I loved his reaction! He's also given me two spawns of balzani's so I figured we are about even. Ken

Nice argentea

Thanks guys ;) They are getting along very well (by CA standards anyways). The juvie carpintis are in the same tank and they are like dithers :) Not a long-term plan...let's see what happens!
