My first.....

you can usually test rocks to make sure that they won't affect your ph by pouring a couple drops of vinegar on them to see if it bubbles.

All I have been adding is the Stability. I haven't been doing any water changes.

Now that I think about it......the water I tested was out of the kitchen sink and that has a water softener on it. But when I filled up the tank I used the basement sink and that doesn't have the softener hooked up to it.

What do you guys think problem solved???????

i wouldn't say that the problem has been solved until we know for sure what's going on... try testing the water that comes out of the faucet you used to fill your tank, if that does come out higher for some reason, then you know for sure, but i don't know if that's the problem or not.

Still cycling lol. Went out a bought 12 more zebra danios. That puts my cycling fish count up to 24.
i ended up using a couple dozen neon tetras and a few zebra danios to cycle my new 46 gallon, they were all gone less than two days after i put my new piranha in there... nothing like spending 30 bucks on two days worth of food, haha

Tested my water to day and its getting better.:headbang2
Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 20ppm

Now if those dang nitrates would just do down I would be setting good. lol
I'm going to go see what the pet store can get for piranha:D

your nitrates are good man, it looks like your tank is cycled. in an established tank, you will always have nitrates, if nitrates show up 0 on your test, something is seriously wrong. 10-20 ppm is good, if it gets over 40ppm, it can put some stress on the fish, but nitrates are removed with your weekly water changes, so they shouldn't be a problem.

looks like you're ready for some fish
